🚨 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S: Emergency Neutral

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on level ground and chocked.
- The Taycan requires 12V power to shift out of Park electronically; locate the 12V battery in the front trunk (frunk) under the hood.
- If the 12V battery is dead, jump-start the 12V system using the jump-start terminal in the frunk (positive terminal under cover, ground point on body) or connect a portable jump pack.
- Once 12V power is restored, press the brake pedal and move the gear selector to N (Neutral).
- If 12V power cannot be restored, locate the manual shift lock release: remove the small rectangular cover panel on the center console directly behind the gear selector lever.
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver or key into the exposed override slot and press down while gently moving the shifter toward N.
- The vehicle can now roll freely in Neutral.

With zero electrical power
The Taycan's shifter is electronic and requires 12V power. If the 12V battery is completely dead and cannot be jump-started, use the manual shift-lock override slot behind the shifter. The high-voltage traction battery does not need to be active to shift to Neutral.
⚡ EV / hybrid warning
The Taycan must be flatbedded if the high-voltage system or drivetrain has faulted. Do not tow with wheels on the ground for more than 30 miles or above 30 mph even in Neutral—permanent drivetrain damage will occur. Activate Transport Mode (Tow Mode) via the PCM screen if 12V power is available: go to Vehicle > Towing > Transport Mode, which electronically releases the parking lock and allows extended neutral coasting for loading onto a flatbed.
