🚨 2002 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph: Emergency Neutral
The Silver Seraph uses a traditional column-mounted lever shifter with electronic shift interlock tied to the brake pedal.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the parking brake is firmly engaged and the vehicle is on level ground.
- Turn the ignition key to the ON position (do not need to start the engine).
- Locate the shift lock override—look for a small cover or access slot near the base of the column shifter assembly where it meets the steering column.
- Use a small flathead screwdriver or similar tool to depress the override release mechanism through the access point.
- While holding the override depressed, move the shift lever to Neutral.
- If the vehicle has no electrical power, you may need to jump the 12V battery temporarily to power the shift interlock system before using the manual override.

With zero electrical power
With completely dead electrical system, the shift interlock cannot be electronically released. Jump-start the 12V battery to at least ACC position to enable the manual override mechanism. If jump-starting is not possible, the vehicle must be dollied or winched onto a flatbed.
