🚨 2024 SEAT Tarraco: Emergency Neutral
The 2024 SEAT Tarraco uses a monostable electronic shifter lever on the center console that returns to center position after each gear selection.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged.
- Locate the shift lock override slot, which is typically positioned near the base of the shifter housing on the right side.
- Remove the small plastic cover cap over the override slot by carefully prying it up with a flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool.
- With the ignition off and no power, insert a key, small screwdriver, or similar tool into the override slot.
- While pressing down on the override release, press the brake pedal (if any residual hydraulic pressure remains) and move the shifter to the Neutral position.
- If absolutely no electrical power is available and the override does not mechanically release the shifter, the vehicle may require a jump-start or battery connection to energize the shift-lock solenoid momentarily to release the transmission.
- Once in Neutral, the vehicle can be moved or loaded onto a flatbed.

With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, the electronic monostable shifter may not release mechanically via the override alone. A temporary jump-start or direct battery connection may be needed to energize the shift-lock solenoid long enough to move the shifter to Neutral. If this is not possible, the vehicle must be loaded onto a flatbed with the transmission locked in Park.
