🚨 2014 Toyota Voxy: Emergency Neutral
The 2014 Toyota Voxy hybrid (R80 series) uses a console-mounted electronic shifter lever with push-button operation and electronic park lock.

⚠️ Chock the wheels first — neutral means the car can roll. Set the parking brake while you work, never stand downhill of the vehicle, and try a 12-volt jump before any override: power fixes most stuck-in-park problems instantly.
The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and parking brake is engaged if functional.
- Turn the ignition to ON position if 12V power is available (press START button twice without brake pedal, or use mechanical key in emergency key slot).
- Locate the shift lock override access panel—on the Voxy it is typically a small rectangular cover on the console near or directly in front of the shifter assembly.
- Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry off the override access cover.
- Insert the screwdriver or mechanical key into the shift lock override slot and press down firmly.
- While holding the override depressed, push the shifter button and move the lever to Neutral (N) position.
- If no 12V power is available, the override will mechanically release the lock but you may need significant force to overcome detents.
- Once in Neutral, verify the shifter indicator shows N (if power available) and ensure vehicle is secured before releasing brakes.

With zero electrical power
With zero 12V power, you must use the mechanical key slot (usually behind a cover on the START button housing) to enable ACC mode. The shift lock override is mechanical and will work without power, but moving the shifter may require more force. In a complete electrical failure, the vehicle will roll freely in Neutral but steering and braking will be unpowered.
⚡ EV / hybrid warning
The Voxy Hybrid must be transported on a flatbed truck. Do not tow with any wheels on the ground. The hybrid transaxle contains electric motors and generators that can be damaged by towing, and regenerative systems may create dangerous voltages even with the vehicle 'off' if wheels are rotating. Short-distance rolling in Neutral (such as onto a flatbed) is acceptable.
