The procedure
- Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and wheel chocks are in place.
- Access the 12V auxiliary battery under the front hood.
- If the 12V battery is dead, jump-start it or connect an external 12V power source to the jump-start terminals under the hood.
- Once 12V power is restored, press the brake pedal and press the power button to activate accessory or ready mode.
- Pull the drive selector stalk toward you once to select Neutral (N).
- If shift interlock prevents Neutral engagement, look for a shift lock override near the base of the column selector stalk (small access point, may require a small tool).
- With Neutral engaged, the vehicle can be moved short distances at very low speed.
