Preparation
- Ensure engine is completely cold (preferably overnight)

- Remove air cleaner assembly and set aside
- Disconnect any vacuum lines, breather hoses, or wiring attached to valve covers
- Label and disconnect spark plug wires from both banks
- Mark firing order and cylinder numbers for reference if needed
Procedure
- 1Remove valve coversRemove the valve cover retaining bolts from both valve covers. Carefully lift valve covers off the cylinder heads. If covers are stuck, gently tap with a rubber mallet.
