Preparation

    Once fluid has completely drained, use a wire brush or parts cleaner to clean the drain plug threads and magnetic tip (if equipped). Inspect the drain plug threads for damage. Clean the drain plug sealing surface on the transmission case, removing old gasket material or debris. Discard the old crush washer from the drain plug.
