Power Window Regulator - Front

Remove and replace the front door power window regulator assembly, including disassembly of the door panel, disconnection of electrical connections, and regulator removal from the door frame.

Preparation

   Position the window glass approximately 6-8 inches from the top of the door opening. Secure the glass in this raised position using masking tape applied from the top of the glass to the door frame exterior, or use a wooden block wedged between the glass and door frame.    Locate the bolts or fasteners securing the window glass channel to the regulator lift mechanism. These are typically accessed through holes in the door inner structure.    Remove Regulator Assembly

    Install New Regulator Assembly
    Position the new regulator assembly and carefully insert it through the door access opening. Align the regulator mounting holes with the corresponding holes in the door inner structure. Install the regulator mounting bolts finger-tight, then torque to the factory-specified value using a torque wrench (confirm exact bolt count and torque spec against the service manual). Ensure the regulator tracks and lift mechanism are properly positioned and not binding.

    Reconnect Regulator Motor and Window Glass

Verify the glass sits properly in the regulator mechanism.

    Test Window Operation

    Reinstall Vapor Barrier and Door Panel
    If removed, reposition the vapor barrier over the door inner structure, ensuring it adheres properly or clips are secured. Align the door panel with the door frame, engaging the top edge at the window sill first, then pressing the panel firmly against the door to engage all retaining clips. Reinstall all door panel mounting screws. Reconnect the power window switch electrical connector and install the switch into the door panel. Reconnect any door handle linkages.

Reassembly

1. Ensure all door panel clips are fully engaged before operating the door or window.
2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and torque to specification.
3. Test window operation after full reassembly to confirm proper function and alignment.

Verification

• Operate the window through full travel multiple times, verifying smooth operation in both directions.
• Check that the window glass seats properly at the top of the door frame with no gaps.
