Preparation
- Park vehicle on a level, solid surface and engage parking brake
- Place wheel chocks behind rear wheels
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts while vehicle is on the ground
- Raise front of vehicle with floor jack at designated jacking points
- Support vehicle securely on jack stands placed under the frame rails
- Remove both front wheels
- Spray penetrating oil on sway bar end link nuts and frame bushing bracket bolts if corrosion is present, allow to soak 10-15 minutes
Procedure
- 1Disconnect driver side sway bar end linkLocate the sway bar end link connecting the sway bar to the lower control arm on the driver side. Hold the ball joint stud stationary with the appropriately sized wrench/hex tool, then remove the upper nut securing the end link to the sway bar (verify nut and stud sizes against the 2008 Viper service manual). The end link should now be free from the sway bar. Allow the end link to hang from the lower control arm.
- 2Disconnect passenger side sway bar end linkRepeat the same process on the passenger side. Using a 15mm wrench to hold the ball joint stud, remove the upper nut securing the end link to the sway bar using a 15mm socket. Allow the end link to hang from the lower control arm.
