Preparation

1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake

   Carefully peel back the moisture barrier film from the door frame. If you plan to reuse it, work slowly to avoid tearing. Peel back only enough to access the window regulator mounting bolts and electrical connector - typically the lower two-thirds of the barrier.

   Secure window glass
   Roll the window glass fully up using manual manipulation if regulator is non-functional. Use masking tape or shop towels to secure the glass to the door frame, or insert wire ties through holes in the door frame and window channel to prevent the glass from falling. Ensure the glass is stable and fully supported.

   Disconnect regulator electrical connector
   Locate the window regulator motor electrical connector inside the door cavity. Press the connector locking tab and disconnect the wiring harness from the regulator motor. Move the wiring aside to provide access to the mounting bolts.

   Locate the two bolts securing the window glass to the regulator lift channel (accessible through access holes in the door frame). Remove these bolts and carefully separate the window glass from the regulator mechanism. Ensure the glass remains secured to the door frame.

   Locate all regulator mounting bolts (typically 3-4 bolts securing the regulator track and motor assembly to the door frame). Remove all mounting bolts and retain them for reinstallation. Note the position and orientation of the regulator for proper installation of the replacement unit.

   Remove regulator assembly
   Carefully maneuver the regulator assembly out through the large service opening in the door frame. The regulator may need to be tilted or rotated to clear the door structure. Take care not to damage the moisture barrier or door frame edges during removal.

   Install new regulator assembly
   Position the new regulator assembly and carefully insert it through the door service opening, maneuvering it into the same position as the original. Align all mounting bolt holes with the corresponding holes in the door frame. Ensure the regulator tracks are properly positioned along the window channels.

    Install all regulator mounting bolts finger-tight first to ensure proper alignment. Once all bolts are started, torque the regulator mounting bolts to specification in a cross-pattern sequence to ensure even mounting pressure.

    Reinstall moisture barrier and door panel
    Press the moisture barrier film back into place, ensuring a complete seal around all edges. Reconnect the door panel electrical connectors for window and lock switches. Reinstall all door panel mounting screws and the switch panel.

Reassembly

1. Ensure all door panel clips are fully seated and the panel is flush with the door frame
2. Verify all electrical connectors are fully engaged with audible clicks
3. Check that moisture barrier is properly sealed to prevent water intrusion

Verification

• Reconnect battery negative terminal and torque to specification
• Test window operation through multiple complete up and down cycles
