    Remove transmission filter

    Install new TCC solenoid
    Lubricate new O-rings on replacement solenoid with clean MERCON LV ATF. Carefully insert new solenoid straight into valve body bore, ensuring O-rings do not roll or pinch. Push solenoid fully seated into bore. Install and hand-tighten mounting bolt, then torque to specification.

    Reinstall valve body
    Carefully raise valve body back into position, ensuring all internal passages align correctly. Install all valve body bolts hand-tight first, ensuring correct bolt lengths in correct locations per photos/notes. Torque all bolts in a criss-cross pattern from center outward. Do not overtighten as valve body is aluminum.
    Verify all check balls and springs remained in position during valve body reinstallation. Missing components will cause transmission malfunction.

    Reconnect electrical connectors and install filter
    Reconnect valve body electrical connector(s), ensuring locking tabs click into place. Tug gently to verify secure connection. Install new or cleaned transmission filter by pressing straight up into valve body. Secure with mounting bolts or clips.

    Clean and prepare pan mating surface
    Using plastic scraper, remove all old gasket material from transmission pan and case mating surfaces. Clean thoroughly with brake cleaner. Inspect pan for warping by placing on flat surface. Clean pan magnet and inspect debris. Minor friction material is normal, but metal shavings indicate internal wear.

    Refill transmission fluid
    Using fluid transfer pump, add approximately 5 quarts of MERCON LV through dipstick tube. Start engine and allow to idle in park. Shift through all gears, pausing 3 seconds in each position, then return to park. With engine running, check fluid level on dipstick (fluid should be warm, not hot). Add fluid in 0.5 quart increments until level reaches cold range on dipstick.
    Initial fill is only partial. Final fluid level MUST be checked at operating temperature (160-200°F) with engine running after test drive.
