    Remove the transmission dipstick and insert a funnel. Add 1.5 to 2 quarts of Motorcraft MERCON LV ATF to replace fluid lost during line replacement. Do not overfill at this stage. Reinsert the dipstick. This initial fill prevents running the transmission dry during the next step.

    With the vehicle still raised and supported, start the engine and allow it to idle. Immediately check all four connection points (two at transmission, two at radiator) for leaks. Reassembly
