If piston is stuck, apply penetrating oil around piston edge, wait 15 minutes, and retry with gradual air pressure increases.
    ⚠️NEVER use high-pressure air or position hands in front of piston. Piston can eject with significant force causing serious injury.
    If piston cannot be removed with reasonable air pressure, caliper may be seized and require replacement rather than rebuild.

Discard all old seals and boots.
    Do not scratch or gouge the caliper bore surface. Any damage to the bore requires caliper replacement.

    Thoroughly clean caliper bore, piston, and all caliper passages using brake cleaner and lint-free shop towels. Use wire brush on exterior surfaces only. Inspect caliper bore for any scoring, pitting, rust, or corrosion. The bore must be perfectly smooth and chrome-plated surface intact. Inspect piston for scoring, pitting, or chrome flaking. Any defects in bore or piston require caliper replacement. Clean slide pin bores in caliper bracket and inspect for wear.
    If caliper bore or piston show ANY scoring, pitting, or corrosion, STOP and replace the entire caliper. Damaged bores cannot be repaired and will cause seal failure and brake fluid leaks.

    Verify all components are completely clean and dry. Lubricate the new piston seal lightly with clean DOT 3 brake fluid. Carefully install the new seal into the groove inside the caliper bore using only your fingers. Ensure seal is seated evenly in groove all the way around with no twists or folds. Do NOT use tools that could damage the seal.
    Use only clean brake fluid as lubricant. Never use petroleum-based lubricants which will destroy rubber seals.

    Install piston and dust boot
    Lubricate caliper bore and piston exterior lightly with clean brake fluid. Install the new dust boot onto the piston according to rebuild kit instructions (some install on piston first, others install in caliper groove first). Carefully insert piston into bore, ensuring it does not damage the seal. Push piston fully into bore by hand or using caliper piston tool, applying even pressure. Seat dust boot into caliper groove, ensuring it is fully seated all around with no gaps or folds.
    Do not cock or tilt piston during installation. It must go in straight to avoid damaging the seal.
