Preparation

  1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
  2. Disconnect negative battery terminal and wait minimum 3 minutes
  3. Move affected seat fully forward to access rear mounting points
  4. Remove any floor mats or debris from under the seat area

    Move the seat fully forward. Locate the two rear seat track mounting bolts at the rear of both seat rails. Remove both bolts using a 10mm socket. Note that these bolts secure the seat to the floor pan.

    With all electrical connections disconnected and mounting bolts removed, carefully lift the seat assembly out of the vehicle. The seat is heavy, approximately 40-50 lbs, so use proper lifting technique or get assistance. Place seat upside down on a clean protected work surface.

    With the seat inverted, locate the heated seat module mounted to the underside of the seat frame. It is typically a rectangular black or silver box approximately 3x4 inches in size, mounted near the center of the seat with wiring harnesses connected to it.

    Identify the electrical connectors attached to the heated seat module.
