Preparation
- Ensure engine is completely cool to the touch
- Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
- Open hood and secure with prop rod
- Disconnect negative battery terminal and wait 5 minutes for system discharge
- Locate MAP sensor on intake plenum - typically mounted on left bank intake manifold near firewall
- Clear any stored fault codes with diagnostic tool if available
Procedure
- 1Remove engine coverRemove the decorative V12 BiTurbo engine cover by pulling upward firmly on the front and rear sections. The cover is secured by rubber grommets on mounting posts. Set cover aside in a clean area.
- 2Access MAP sensor locationIdentify the MAP sensor mounted on the intake manifold or plenum. On most M275 engines, it is located on the left cylinder bank near the firewall. Remove any plastic covers or heat shields blocking access using T25 Torx driver if necessary. - 3Disconnect electrical connectorPress the release tab on the MAP sensor electrical connector and carefully pull the connector straight off the sensor. Do not pull on the wiring harness. Inspect connector pins for corrosion or damage. If connector is stubborn, use a small flat blade screwdriver to carefully release the locking tab.
- 4Remove vacuum hose connectionIf equipped with a vacuum hose connection, carefully disconnect the vacuum hose from the MAP sensor by gently twisting while pulling. Note the orientation and routing of the hose for reinstallation. On direct-mounted sensors integrated into the intake manifold, this step may not apply.
- 5Remove MAP sensor mounting screwsUsing the T25 Torx driver or appropriate tool, carefully remove the MAP sensor mounting screws. Typically there are 2 screws securing the sensor to the manifold. Keep screws in a safe location for reinstallation. Gently wiggle the sensor to break the seal if stuck.
- 6Extract MAP sensorCarefully pull the MAP sensor straight out from the mounting location. Avoid twisting or applying excessive force. If the sensor is seized, gently rock it back and forth while pulling. Remove and discard the old O-ring seal from the sensor port.
- 7Clean mounting surfaceClean the MAP sensor mounting area on the intake manifold thoroughly using shop towels. Remove any debris, old O-ring material, or carbon deposits from the sensor port. Spray electrical contact cleaner into the port if necessary and allow to dry completely. Inspect the port opening for cracks or damage.
- 8Install new O-ring sealInstall the new O-ring seal onto the new MAP sensor, ensuring it is seated properly in the groove. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil if needed to ease installation. Verify the O-ring is not twisted or damaged.
- 9Install new MAP sensorCarefully insert the new MAP sensor straight into the mounting port, ensuring proper alignment. Push firmly until the sensor seats completely against the mounting surface. Do not force or cross-thread the sensor.
- 10Secure MAP sensorInstall the MAP sensor mounting screws and tighten by hand until snug. Using a torque wrench, tighten the screws to specification in a cross-pattern if multiple screws are present. - 11Reconnect electrical and vacuum connectionsReconnect the electrical connector to the MAP sensor, pressing firmly until you hear or feel a positive click. Tug gently on the connector to verify it is locked in place. Reconnect the vacuum hose if applicable, ensuring it is fully seated and routed correctly.

Reassembly
- Reinstall the V12 BiTurbo engine cover by aligning the grommets with the mounting posts and pressing down firmly
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal and torque to 10 Nm

Verification
- Start the engine and allow it to idle; verify no rough running or hesitation occurs
- Check for vacuum leaks around the MAP sensor by listening for hissing sounds
