Door Panel

Remove and reinstall interior door panel to access window regulator, lock mechanisms, or speakers on 2007 Ram 3500.

• Door panel retaining clips (if broken) × 10 — Mopar part 6503598 or equivalent
• Door panel push-pin fasteners (if broken) × 5 — Mopar part 6503219 or equivalent

Preparation

1. Verify which door requires panel removal (driver front, passenger front, rear passenger, or rear driver)
2. Roll window completely up to prevent damage during panel removal
3. Prepare a clean work surface to place the door panel face-down during service
4. Have replacement clips available as original clips often break during removal on vehicles of this age

Procedure

1. 1

   Remove door handle trim bezel
   Use a small flat-blade screwdriver or trim tool to carefully pry the interior door handle bezel from the rear edge. Pull the bezel away from the door panel to release the retaining clips. Disconnect the courtesy light connector if equipped by pressing the tab and pulling straight out.

   Remove window switch assembly
   On front doors, insert a trim tool under the rear edge of the window switch panel and carefully pry upward to release clips. Lift the switch assembly and disconnect the electrical connectors by pressing the release tabs. On rear doors, remove any blanking plates using the same method.

   Remove door pull/armrest fasteners
   Locate and remove two Phillips head screws at the bottom of the door pull cup. On some trim levels, these may be hidden behind small plastic caps that pry out. Remove the T30 Torx screw located inside the door pull/armrest area.

   Remove door panel mounting screws
   Remove the Phillips head screw located at the bottom front corner of the door panel near the door latch striker. Remove the Phillips head screw at the bottom rear corner of the panel. Check for any additional screws along the bottom edge of the panel depending on trim level.

   Release door panel retaining clips
   Starting at the bottom rear corner, use a trim panel tool to gently pry the door panel away from the door frame to release the plastic retaining clips. Work your way around the perimeter of the panel, releasing clips along the bottom, rear, and front edges. The panel has approximately 8-10 clips around the perimeter.

   Disengage panel from window sill
   Once all clips are released, lift the door panel straight up approximately 2 inches to disengage it from the door frame lip at the top. The panel hooks over the window sill and must be lifted clear before pulling away from the door.

   Disconnect door latch cable
   Reach behind the panel and locate the door latch cable attached to the interior door handle mechanism. Rotate the cable end fitting to align with the slot in the handle lever, then pull the cable end out of the lever. Unhook the cable housing from its retaining clip on the panel.

   Remove door panel
   With all connections released, carefully pull the door panel away from the door. Place it face-down on a protected work surface. Note the location of any remaining clips stuck in the door frame for reinstallation.

   Access internal door components
   If needed, carefully peel back the plastic moisture barrier to access window regulator, lock actuator, or speaker components. The barrier is typically held by butyl adhesive and should be preserved for reinstallation to maintain moisture seal.

Reassembly

1. Ensure all plastic retaining clips are installed in the door panel (not stuck in door frame)
2. Reconnect door latch cable to interior handle mechanism before positioning panel
3. Align panel hooks with window sill lip and press down before pushing panel against door
4. Firmly press around entire perimeter of panel to seat all retaining clips until you hear them snap
5. Reconnect window switch and courtesy light connectors before installing trim bezels
6. Verify all fasteners are tightened and trim pieces are secure before closing door

Verification

• Test interior door handle to ensure proper latch cable operation and door opens smoothly
• Verify all window switches function correctly and electrical connections are secure
• Check that door panel is flush around entire perimeter with no gaps or loose sections
• Verify courtesy lights illuminate when door is opened if equipped
• Confirm all trim bezels and switches are properly seated and secure
