Preparation

Park vehicle on level surface and turn off engine
Turn headlight switch to OFF position
Open and secure the hood

Procedure

Access the headlight assembly
Locate the headlight assembly on the front of the vehicle corresponding to the turn signal bulb that needs replacement. The turn signal bulb is integrated into the composite headlamp assembly and is accessed from behind the housing.

Remove the turn signal bulb socket
Reach behind the headlight assembly and locate the turn signal bulb socket. Rotate the socket counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight out to remove it from the headlight housing.

Remove the failed bulb
With the socket removed, press the bulb gently into the socket and rotate counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket. Inspect the bulb to confirm it is burned out or damaged.

Install the new bulb
Using a clean cloth or while wearing gloves, insert the new 3157A amber bulb into the socket. Press in gently and rotate clockwise approximately 1/4 turn until it locks into place. Ensure the bulb is firmly seated.

Reinstall the bulb socket
Align the tabs on the socket with the slots in the headlight housing. Insert the socket and rotate clockwise approximately 1/4 turn until it locks securely in place.

Reassembly

Ensure the bulb socket is fully seated and locked into the headlight assembly
Close the hood

Verification

Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine
Activate the turn signal for the side where the bulb was replaced and verify it flashes at the correct rate (not rapid or slow)
Activate the hazard lights and verify both front turn signals flash simultaneously
Visually inspect from outside the vehicle to confirm the new bulb is illuminating properly with amber light
Turn off all lights and remove the key
