Preparation

  1. Park on level ground, place in P, engage the parking brake.

    Always use a flare-nut wrench on hydraulic line fittings — an open-end wrench will round the soft fitting.

    Release the hose from the chassis bracket
    Remove the retaining clip securing the hose to the manufacturer-specified chassis bracket. Inspect the clip; replace if bent or corroded.

    Remove the banjo bolt at the caliper
    Place the catch pan under the caliper. Remove the banjo bolt securing the brake hose to the caliper. Discard both copper washers — they are single-use. Cap or bag the caliper port to prevent contamination.
    Copper crush washers MUST be replaced with new ones on reassembly. Reusing washers will cause a leak.

    Cross-threading the hard line will require replacement of the line — start the fitting by hand only.

Reassembly

  1. Confirm reservoir is filled to MAX with fresh DOT 3 fluid and cap is sealed.
  2. Reinstall the front wheel; snug lug nuts in a star pattern.
  3. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
  4. Final-torque wheel lug nuts in a star pattern to specification.
  5. Reconnect the 48V low-voltage battery.
  6. Exit Jack Mode and allow the air suspension to return to normal ride height.
