Parts

  • Power mirror motor assembly × 1 — Use OEM specification

Preparation

  1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
  2. Ensure ignition is off and key is removed
  3. Lower front windows slightly to prevent glass stress during door panel removal
  4. Disconnect negative battery terminal and wait 2 minutes for system discharge

Procedure

  1. 1
    Remove door trim panel
Remove Phillips screw from door pull handle recess. Use trim removal tool to carefully pry out the switch panel assembly from the armrest. Disconnect electrical connectors from power window and lock switches. Remove two Phillips screws behind switch panel. Carefully release door panel clips by lifting upward and pulling away from door frame. Disconnect door handle cable by rotating cable end 90 degrees and sliding out of bracket.
  2. 2
    Remove door weather barrier
Carefully peel back the plastic weather barrier from the door frame starting at the bottom corner. Only peel back enough to access the mirror mounting area (approximately 1/3 of the barrier). Use masking tape to hold barrier out of the way without fully removing adhesive.
  3. 3
    Access mirror mounting area
Locate the triangular trim piece at the front upper corner of the door where the mirror mounts. Carefully pry out this trim piece using trim removal tool, starting from the rear edge. Disconnect the mirror position indicator light connector if equipped.
  4. 4
    Disconnect mirror electrical connector
Locate the main mirror electrical connector inside the door cavity. Press the locking tab and disconnect the connector from the mirror assembly. Note the routing of the wire harness for reinstallation.
  5. 5
    Remove mirror assembly mounting bolts
Remove three 10mm mounting bolts securing the mirror assembly to the door frame. Support the mirror from the outside while removing the final bolt to prevent it from falling. Carefully pull the mirror assembly away from the door, feeding the wire harness through the door opening.
  6. 6
    Remove mirror motor from housing
Place mirror assembly on clean work surface with back facing up. Disconnect the internal connector between mirror housing and motor assembly. Remove three screws securing the motor assembly to the mirror housing. Note the orientation of the motor before removal. Carefully separate motor from mirror glass actuator mechanism.
  7. 7
    Install new mirror motor
Position new mirror motor in correct orientation matching original installation. Engage motor drive mechanism with mirror glass actuator. Reconnect internal connector between motor and mirror housing wiring. Install three mounting screws and tighten securely but do not overtighten plastic housing threads.
  8. 8
    Reinstall mirror assembly to door
Feed wire harness through door opening. Align mirror assembly with three mounting holes on door frame. Install three 10mm mounting bolts and tighten to proper specification. Reconnect main electrical connector to mirror harness inside door.

  9. 9
Reinstall mirror trim and weather barrier
Reconnect mirror position indicator light connector if equipped. Snap triangular trim piece back into position ensuring all clips are fully seated. Press weather barrier back into place ensuring complete adhesion around all edges to maintain water seal.
  10. 10
    Reinstall door trim panel
Reconnect door handle cable by inserting into bracket and rotating 90 degrees. Position door panel and engage all clips by pressing firmly around perimeter. Install two Phillips screws behind switch panel opening. Reconnect power window and lock switch connectors. Snap switch panel assembly into armrest. Install Phillips screw in door pull handle recess.
  11. 11
    Reconnect battery and test
Reconnect negative battery terminal and tighten to specification. Turn ignition to ON position without starting engine. Test mirror adjustment in all directions (up, down, left, right) using interior switch controls. Verify smooth operation without binding or unusual noise.

Reassembly

  1. Ensure all door panel clips are fully seated to prevent rattles
  2. Verify weather barrier is completely sealed to prevent water intrusion
  3. Check that door trim panel fits flush with no gaps

Verification

  • Test mirror adjustment in all four directions using interior switch
  • Verify mirror holds position when vehicle is in motion
  • Check that mirror fold function operates correctly if equipped
  • Confirm mirror position indicator light functions if equipped
  • Test power window and lock switches to ensure proper door panel reinstallation
