Parts

  • Windshield washer pump × 1 — 85330-06080 or equivalent
  • Washer fluid reservoir grommet (if damaged) × 1 — Use OEM specification

Fluids

  • Windshield Washer Fluid — 3.5 qt

Preparation

  1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
  2. Turn ignition off and remove key from vehicle
  3. Gather drain pan capable of holding at least 1 gallon of fluid
  4. Open hood and locate washer fluid reservoir on driver's side near fender
  5. If reservoir is full, use turkey baster or pump to remove excess fluid to make draining easier

Procedure

  1. 1
    Access washer reservoir area
From under the hood, locate the washer fluid reservoir on the driver's side. The pump is mounted in the bottom of the reservoir tank. You may need to remove the plastic engine cover if equipped by pulling upward on the clips. Identify the electrical connector and hose routing to the pump.
  2. 2
    Disconnect electrical connector
Locate the electrical connector on the washer pump motor. Press the locking tab and pull the connector straight off the pump terminals. The connector is accessed from above on this model.
  3. 3
    Position drain pan
Place your drain pan directly under the washer pump location at the bottom of the reservoir. Be prepared for approximately 3-4 quarts of washer fluid to drain out when the pump is removed.
  4. 4
    Disconnect outlet hose
Locate the washer hose connected to the pump outlet. Squeeze the hose clamp with needle nose pliers and slide it back on the hose, then twist and pull the hose off the pump nipple. Fluid will begin draining.
  5. 5
    Remove washer pump
The pump is held in the reservoir by a rubber grommet. Firmly grasp the pump body and rotate it counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn while pulling outward. The pump should release from the grommet. Allow remaining fluid to drain into your pan. Inspect the rubber grommet seal in the reservoir for damage or deterioration.
  6. 6
    Prepare new pump
Remove the new washer pump from packaging. Verify it matches the original pump design and that the outlet nipple and electrical terminals are in the same positions. If the grommet was damaged during removal, install the new grommet into the reservoir opening now.
  7. 7
    Install new pump
Lubricate the pump body slightly with washer fluid. Insert the pump into the reservoir grommet, aligning it straight. Push firmly while rotating clockwise approximately 1/4 turn until the pump seats fully into the grommet. Ensure it is secure and will not pull out.
  8. 8
    Reconnect outlet hose
Push the washer hose firmly onto the pump outlet nipple until it bottoms out. Slide the hose clamp back into position over the connection point. Verify the hose is secure by tugging gently on it.
  9. 9
    Reconnect electrical connector
Push the electrical connector onto the pump terminals until you hear or feel it click into place. Verify the locking tab is fully engaged.
  10. 10
    Refill washer reservoir
Pour windshield washer fluid into the reservoir until it reaches the full line, approximately 3.5 quarts total capacity. Use a funnel to avoid spills.

Reassembly

  1. Reinstall plastic engine cover if it was removed
  2. Wipe up any spilled washer fluid from engine bay and fender area
  3. Close hood

Verification

  • Turn ignition to ON position without starting engine
  • Operate the windshield washer switch and verify fluid sprays from both nozzles with good pressure
  • Check for leaks at the pump body, hose connection, and grommet seal
  • Verify pump operates quietly without unusual noise
  • Top off reservoir if needed after testing
  • Test wipers with washer function to confirm normal operation
