Preparation
- Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
- Turn off all electrical accessories and remove key from ignition
- Allow engine to cool if recently operated
- Open hood and secure with prop rod
- Locate battery in engine compartment on driver side
- Take note of cable routing and attachment points for reinstallation
Procedure
- 1Disconnect negative battery terminalUsing a 10mm socket, loosen the negative (black) battery terminal bolt. Remove the terminal from the battery post and secure it away from the battery to prevent accidental contact. Do not allow the terminal to touch any metal surfaces.
