Complete removal and replacement of the crankshaft on a 2019-2024 Toyota RAV4 2.5L I4 engine, requiring engine removal, complete disassembly of lower end components, and precision reassembly with torque-to-yield fasteners.

Warnings

⚠️This procedure requires complete engine removal and disassembly. Improper crankshaft installation, bearing clearances, or torque specifications will result in catastrophic engine failure.
⚠️All main bearing cap bolts and connecting rod bolts are torque-to-yield (TTY) and MUST be replaced. Reusing TTY fasteners will cause bolt failure and engine destruction.
Crankshaft bearing clearances must be verified with Plastigage before final assembly. Out-of-specification clearances require bearing replacement or crankshaft machining.
Engine must be supported properly on engine stand with secure mounting. Improper support can cause engine to fall causing severe injury.
ℹ️Mark all bearing caps and orientation before disassembly. Main bearing caps are not interchangeable and must be reinstalled in exact original position and orientation.
