You can read every page on this site without an account, and we would like to keep it that way. We collect the minimum we need to keep the site online, tell real visitors apart from bot traffic, and process payments when you choose to make one. We do not sell or rent anyone's data, ever.

Like nearly every website, our servers record standard request logs: IP address, browser user-agent, and the pages requested. We also run a small first-party measurement beacon that records the same information. We use these records for security, debugging, and to separate human visitors from automated scraping traffic, which is a large share of requests to a site like this. We also use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic statistics. None of this identifies you personally to us.

If you request an API key, sponsor a vehicle, unlock a procedure, ask our master technicians a question, or submit a vehicle request, we store the email address and any details you provide, because we need them to deliver the thing you asked for and to send you receipts or replies. That is the only use they get.

All payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers and payment credentials go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. We receive only the confirmation, the amount, and the email address associated with the payment.

We use a small number of cookies for basic site function and analytics. We do not run third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels. Sponsor placements on this site are simple first-party content, not ad-network surveillance.

For API keys we log request counts, endpoints called, query parameters, and response codes. We read these logs to fix failures, plan coverage, and enforce rate limits. Aggregate patterns (never customer identities or their end-users' data) guide what we build next.

The extension sends the year, make, model and optional job filter you type to openlaborproject.com to fetch repair data, and our servers see the same standard request information described above. It does not read, collect or transmit the content of the web pages you visit, your browsing history, or anything you type outside its own panel. The floating panel is placed on a page only when you click the detach button. Your recent lookups, preferred parts store and shop labor rate are stored locally in your browser and never sent to us. If you paste an API key to unlock Pro features, the key is sent to our server only to confirm the plan it belongs to, and is kept locally in your browser until you sign out of the extension. Links to parts stores open a search on that store's site and carry no tracking or affiliate tags.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers required to operate (hosting, Stripe, email delivery), and then only the minimum they need. We have no interest in knowing who you are; we just want your torque specs to be right.
