Preparation

Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
Allow engine to cool completely
Disconnect negative battery cable and wait 2 minutes
Remove engine cover by pulling upward on the front edge and sliding forward
Take a photo of serpentine belt routing for reference

Procedure

Remove serpentine belt
Using a serpentine belt tool or 1/2-inch breaker bar, rotate the tensioner clockwise to release tension. Slip the belt off the pulleys and slowly release the tensioner. Remove the belt from the engine bay.

Locate the power steering pump on the passenger side of the engine block. Inspect the pulley for damage, wobble, or misalignment. Verify you have clear access to the pulley face.

Install the power steering pump pulley puller tool onto the pulley according to the manufacturer's instructions. The center screw should thread into the pump shaft while the outer arms grip behind the pulley. Slowly turn the center bolt clockwise to pull the pulley straight off the pump shaft. Do not force or angle the pulley during removal.

Verify pulley alignment
