This procedure relearns the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors on a 2015-2020 Ford F-150 with 5.0L V8 engine after tire rotation, sensor replacement, or low tire pressure warning.

Preparation

1. Locate the driver's door jamb tire pressure placard and verify the correct tire pressures for front and rear tires.
2. Inflate all four tires (and spare if equipped with TPMS) to the recommended pressure listed on the door jamb placard.
3. Verify all TPMS sensors are installed and functioning. If sensors were recently replaced, confirm they are programmed for Ford F-150.
4. Park vehicle on level surface and ensure transmission is in Park with parking brake engaged.
5. Turn ignition to OFF position before beginning.

Procedure

   Access TPMS training mode
   Turn the ignition to the ON position (engine off). Press and release the brake pedal. Turn the ignition to the OFF position. Cycle the ignition from OFF to ON three times, ending in the ON position. Press and release the brake pedal. Turn the ignition to the OFF position. This enters the TPMS training mode. You should hear a horn chirp or see a TPMS indicator flash confirming training mode is active.

   Place the TPMS relearn tool antenna against the left front tire sidewall near the valve stem. Activate the tool to trigger the sensor. The horn will chirp once when the sensor is successfully accepted. If no chirp occurs within 10 seconds, reposition the tool and try again.

   Move to the right front tire and place the TPMS relearn tool antenna against the tire sidewall near the valve stem. Activate the tool to trigger the sensor. Wait for the horn chirp confirming successful acceptance before proceeding.

   Move to the right rear tire and place the TPMS relearn tool antenna against the tire sidewall near the valve stem. Activate the tool to trigger the sensor. Wait for the horn chirp confirming successful acceptance before proceeding.

   Move to the left rear tire and place the TPMS relearn tool antenna against the tire sidewall near the valve stem. Activate the tool to trigger the sensor. Wait for the horn chirp confirming successful acceptance. After the fourth sensor is learned, the horn will chirp twice to indicate the relearn procedure is complete.

   Exit training mode and initialize system
   Turn the ignition to the OFF position. Start the engine and allow it to run for at least 30 seconds. This allows the TPMS module to verify and store the new sensor positions. The TPMS warning light should turn off within 2 minutes of driving if the relearn was successful.

   Drive the vehicle at speeds above 20 mph for at least 10 minutes to allow the TPMS system to fully validate all sensor positions and tire pressures. The system will update and the TPMS warning light should remain off if all sensors are communicating properly.
