- Disconnect negative battery terminal and wait 3 minutes
- Allow interior to cool if vehicle was recently operated in hot weather
- Take photos of center console area for reference during reassembly
Procedure
- 1Remove lower center console trim panelUsing trim tools, carefully pry the lower center console panel starting from the bottom rear edge near the cupholders. Work your way around the perimeter to release all retaining clips. Pull the panel away gently to avoid breaking clips.
- 2Remove shift knob and boot assembly (manual transmission)For manual transmission models, unscrew the shift knob counterclockwise and remove. Pull up the shift boot trim ring to release it from the console. For automatic transmission models, skip this step.
- 3Remove center console side panelsUse trim tools to release the side panels on both sides of the center console. These panels have clips at the top and bottom edges. Pull outward gently after releasing clips.
- 4Remove climate control panel trim bezelStarting at the bottom edge of the climate control bezel (surrounding the HVAC controls and audio system), use trim tools to release the retaining clips. Work carefully around the audio display area. Pull the bezel forward approximately 2 inches but do not remove completely yet.
- 5Disconnect hazard switch connectorReach behind the bezel and locate the hazard light switch connector. Press the locking tab and disconnect the electrical connector. The bezel can now be fully removed and set aside.

- 8Disconnect electrical connectorsLocate all electrical connectors on the rear of the HVAC control panel (typically 2-3 connectors). Press the locking tabs and disconnect each connector. Note the orientation and routing of each connector. Remove the control panel completely.
- 9Install new HVAC control panelPosition the new HVAC control panel and reconnect all electrical connectors. Ensure each connector clicks firmly into place and locking tabs engage. Verify connector orientation matches your reference photos.
- 10Secure control panel and reinstall trimPush the HVAC control panel into position and install mounting screws. Reconnect the hazard switch connector to the trim bezel. Install the bezel by aligning clips and pressing firmly until all clips engage. Reinstall side panels, lower console panel, and shift components if removed.Torque specCover Screws10 Nm (8 lb-ft)

- Start the vehicle and verify HVAC controls power on and display illuminates
- Test all climate control functions: fan speed, temperature adjustment, mode selection, and A/C button
- Verify defrost modes operate correctly
- Check that all trim panels are secure with no rattles or loose clips
- Confirm hazard light switch operates normally
