    Remove the two Phillips screws securing the lower steering column cover. Carefully pull lower cover downward and away from column to release mounting clips. On some models, you may need to disconnect the hood release cable from its clip on the lower cover. Set cover aside.

    Locate and remove the screws securing the knee bolster panel below the steering column (typically 2-3 screws). Use panel removal tool to carefully release the retaining clips along the top edge. Pull panel away gently and set aside. This provides access to cluster mounting area.

    Remove instrument cluster bezel
    Using plastic trim tools, carefully pry around the perimeter of the instrument cluster bezel (the trim ring surrounding the cluster). Start at the bottom corners and work your way around, releasing the retaining clips. The bezel snaps into place with approximately 6-8 clips. Pull bezel straight back once all clips are released and set aside.

    Locate the four screws securing the instrument cluster to the dashboard (two on top, two on bottom). These are typically Phillips head screws. Remove all four screws completely and place in magnetic tray. Support the cluster with one hand as you remove the final screws to prevent it from falling.

    Pull cluster forward and disconnect electrical connectors
    Carefully pull the instrument cluster straight toward you approximately 3-4 inches until you can access the rear connectors. You will see multiple electrical connectors on the back of the cluster. Press the release tab on each connector while pulling the connector straight back from the cluster. There are typically 3-4 connectors depending on trim level. Note the position and routing of each connector for reassembly.

    Remove instrument cluster from vehicle
    Once all electrical connectors are disconnected, carefully maneuver the cluster out through the dashboard opening. Tilt slightly if needed to clear the steering column and surrounding trim. Place cluster face-down on clean, soft surface to prevent scratching the lens. If replacing cluster, transfer any necessary components or verify new cluster matches original specifications.

    Install replacement or serviced cluster
    Position the replacement or serviced cluster near the dashboard opening. Reconnect all electrical connectors to the back of the cluster, ensuring each connector clicks firmly into place. Verify each connection is secure by gently tugging on the connector body (not the wires). Carefully guide cluster back into dashboard opening, ensuring no wires are pinched.

    Align cluster mounting holes with dashboard brackets. Install all four mounting screws finger-tight first to ensure proper alignment. Once all screws are started, torque screws to specification in a cross pattern (top-left, bottom-right, top-right, bottom-left) to ensure even seating of the cluster.

    Reinstall cluster bezel and trim panels
    Position instrument cluster bezel over cluster and press firmly around perimeter until all clips engage with audible clicks. Reinstall knee bolster panel, ensuring all clips align properly before pressing into place. Install and torque all panel screws. Reinstall lower steering column cover, reconnecting hood release cable clip if applicable, then install upper column cover with its screws.

    Reconnect battery and initialize systems
    Reconnect negative battery cable to battery terminal and torque to specification. Ensure connection is clean and tight.
