Preparation

Park vehicle on level ground and engage parking brake
Place wheel chocks behind rear wheels
Raise front of vehicle with floor jack and support on jack stands at proper lift points

Allow engine and transmission to cool if recently driven

Procedure

Support the transmission
Position a transmission jack or floor jack with a wood block under the transmission oil pan. Apply slight upward pressure to support the transmission weight, but do not lift the transmission at this point. The jack should just make contact to prevent movement when the mount is removed.

Remove transmission mount cover
If equipped, remove any plastic covers or shields protecting the transmission mount area. Remove cover bolts and set aside the cover.

Remove transmission mount upper bolts
Locate the bolts securing the transmission mount to the transmission housing. Remove these upper mounting bolts completely. Support the bolts and hardware to prevent dropping.

Remove mount-to-crossmember bolts
Locate the bolts that secure the transmission mount to the subframe or crossmember below. Remove these mounting bolts completely while ensuring the transmission remains supported by the jack.

Remove crossmember if necessary
If the transmission mount is integrated with or blocked by the crossmember, remove the crossmember bolts. Note the position and orientation of any spacers or washers. Carefully lower and remove the crossmember.
⚠Crossmember may be heavy. Use proper lifting technique or have an assistant help support it during removal.

Remove old transmission mount
With all fasteners removed, carefully extract the transmission mount assembly from the vehicle. You may need to slightly raise or lower the transmission with the jack to create clearance. Inspect the removed mount for wear, cracking, or separation of rubber from metal components.

Prepare new transmission mount
Compare the new transmission mount to the old unit to verify correct replacement part. Clean mounting surfaces on both the transmission housing and crossmember/subframe using a wire brush to remove dirt, rust, or old rubber residue.

Install new transmission mount
Position the new transmission mount into place, aligning it with the mounting holes on the transmission. Use the transmission jack to adjust transmission height as needed for proper alignment. Start all mounting bolts by hand to ensure proper thread engagement.
ℹ️Do not fully tighten bolts until all fasteners are started to allow for alignment adjustment.

Reinstall crossmember if removed
If the crossmember was removed, position it back into place ensuring any spacers or washers are in their original locations. Start all crossmember bolts by hand before tightening.

Torque all fasteners to specification
Using a torque wrench, tighten all transmission mount bolts to the specified torque in the following order: first tighten mount-to-transmission bolts, then mount-to-crossmember bolts, and finally crossmember-to-chassis bolts if applicable. Reinstall covers and remove transmission support
Reinstall any covers or shields removed during disassembly and torque cover bolts to specification. Carefully lower and remove the transmission jack, ensuring the transmission is fully supported by the new mount.

Reassembly

Verify all fasteners are torqued to specification and no tools or parts are left in the engine bay
Lower vehicle from jack stands
Remove wheel chocks

Verification

Start the engine and observe the transmission mount for excessive movement or vibration
Shift through all gear positions (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive) and verify no abnormal movement or clunking
Test drive the vehicle and verify smooth operation with no vibration or noise from the transmission mount area
Re-inspect all mounting bolts after test drive to confirm they remain properly torqued
