Preparation

  1. Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
  2. Disconnect 12V auxiliary battery negative terminal

    Loosen the lug nuts on the front left wheel, then raise and support the vehicle on a jack stand. Remove the wheel completely to access the inner fender liner.

    If reusing the washer pump, rotate it counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull it straight out from the reservoir. The pump has a sealing grommet that should come out with it. Inspect the grommet for damage.

    Carefully maneuver the reservoir out through the wheel well opening. You may need to rotate and angle it to clear the frame rails and suspension components. Have a towel ready to catch any remaining fluid.

    Install washer pump in new reservoir
    If installing a new reservoir, transfer the washer pump to the new unit. Insert the pump with its sealing grommet into the reservoir opening and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn until it locks into place. Ensure the grommet seats properly to prevent leaks.

    Maneuver the new reservoir into the wheel well mounting location. Align the lower mounting pin with its grommet, then align the upper mounting holes with the body bracket.

    Install the two 10mm mounting bolts through the upper bracket and thread them into the reservoir mounting ears. Tighten bolts snugly but do not overtighten as the reservoir is plastic. Ensure the lower pin is fully seated in its grommet.
