Parts

  • Front engine mount × 1 — 12361-0H051 or equivalent
  • Rear engine mount × 1 — 12372-0H020 or equivalent
  • Right-side engine mount × 1 — 12305-28110 or equivalent
  • Transmission mount × 1 — 12371-0H060 or equivalent

Preparation

  1. Park vehicle on level ground and engage parking brake
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable and secure away from terminal
  3. Remove engine under covers and splash shields
  4. Raise vehicle and support securely on jack stands at manufacturer lift points
  5. Install engine support fixture across engine bay or position engine hoist with load leveler
  6. Apply slight upward tension on engine to relieve weight from mounts, but do not fully lift engine

Procedure

  1. 1
    Remove right-side engine mount
From above the engine bay, locate the right-side engine mount on the passenger side. Remove the mount through-bolt that connects the mount to the engine bracket. Remove the three mounting bolts that secure the mount to the frame rail. Carefully extract the mount from the engine bay. Note the orientation of the mount for installation.
    Torque spec
    Through-Bolt85 Nm (63 lb-ft)
    Mounting Bolts47 Nm (35 lb-ft)
  2. 2
Access and remove front engine mount
Working from underneath the vehicle, locate the front engine mount positioned below the engine. Remove any heat shields or covers that obstruct access. Remove the mount through-bolt connecting the mount to the engine subframe bracket. Remove the engine mount-to-block bolts securing the mount to the engine block. Lower and remove the front mount.
Engine will shift slightly forward when this mount is removed. Ensure support fixture is secure.
    Torque spec
    Mount Through Bolt88 Nm (65 lb-ft)
    Engine Mount-to-Block Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)
  3. 3
    Remove rear engine mount
From underneath the vehicle, locate the rear engine mount between the engine and firewall. Remove the mount-to-frame bolts securing the mount to the subframe. Remove the engine mount-to-block bolts connecting the mount to the engine. Carefully remove the rear mount, noting any alignment dowels or locating pins.
    Torque spec
    Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)
    Engine Mount-to-Block Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)
  4. 4
    Remove transmission mount
Locate the transmission mount on the driver side of the transmission. Using a floor jack with a block of wood, apply slight upward pressure to the transmission pan to support the transmission weight. Remove the transmission mount bolts securing the mount to the transmission case. Remove the mount-to-frame bolts securing the mount to the crossmember. Remove the transmission mount assembly.
Support transmission weight before removing mount to prevent damage to transmission case or exhaust components.

    Transmission Mount Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)
    Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)
  5. 5
    Clean mounting surfaces
With all mounts removed, use a wire brush to clean all mounting surfaces on the engine block, transmission case, and frame mounting points. Remove any rust, corrosion, or old rubber debris. Inspect mounting bolts for thread damage and replace if necessary. Apply a light coating of anti-seize compound to bolt threads, avoiding the first few threads.
  6. 6
    Install new transmission mount
Position the new transmission mount onto the transmission case, aligning mounting holes. Install transmission mount bolts finger-tight. Position the mount to the crossmember and install mount-to-frame bolts finger-tight. Ensure proper alignment before tightening. Torque all bolts to specification in sequence: first transmission-side bolts, then frame-side bolts.
    Torque spec
    Transmission Mount Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)
    Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)
  7. 7
    Install new rear engine mount
Position the new rear engine mount to the engine block, aligning any dowel pins or locating features. Install engine mount-to-block bolts finger-tight. Align the mount to the subframe and install mount-to-frame bolts finger-tight. Verify alignment, then torque engine mount-to-block bolts first, followed by mount-to-frame bolts to specification.

    Engine Mount-to-Block Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)
    Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)
  8. 8
    Install new front engine mount
Lift the new front engine mount into position from underneath. Align the mount to the engine block and install engine mount-to-block bolts finger-tight. Insert the mount through-bolt connecting the mount to the subframe bracket finger-tight. Check alignment, then torque engine mount-to-block bolts first, followed by the mount through-bolt to specification.
    Torque spec
    Engine Mount-to-Block Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)
    Mount Through Bolt88 Nm (65 lb-ft)
  9. 9
    Install new right-side engine mount
Position the new right-side engine mount from above, ensuring correct orientation matches the original. Install the three mounting bolts to the frame rail finger-tight. Install the mount through-bolt connecting the mount to the engine bracket finger-tight. Verify proper alignment and full engagement of all fasteners. Torque mounting bolts first, then the through-bolt to specification.

    Mounting Bolts47 Nm (35 lb-ft)
    Through-Bolt85 Nm (63 lb-ft)
  10. 10
Release engine support and verify installation
Slowly and carefully release tension from the engine support fixture or hoist, allowing the engine weight to settle onto the new mounts. Observe engine position and verify it sits level and properly aligned. Check that all mount bolts remain tight and there is no binding. Remove engine support equipment. Reinstall any heat shields, covers, or sensors removed during disassembly.
Lower engine slowly to prevent sudden shifting or component damage.
    Torque spec
    Cover Bolts16 Nm (12 lb-ft)
    Sensor Bolts11 Nm (8 lb-ft)

Reassembly

  1. Reinstall engine under covers and splash shields
  2. Lower vehicle from jack stands
  3. Reconnect negative battery cable and tighten securely
  4. Perform final visual inspection of all mount hardware and surrounding components

Verification

  • Start engine and verify it idles smoothly without excessive vibration
  • With engine running, shift transmission through all gear positions and verify smooth engagement
  • Turn steering wheel lock-to-lock and verify no interference with engine movement
  • Perform a short test drive and verify no abnormal vibrations during acceleration, deceleration, or gear changes
  • Recheck all mount bolt torque after test drive
  • Inspect mounts visually for proper alignment and no signs of stress or separation
