- 2Remove lower steering column coversLocate the two Phillips screws on the underside of the lower steering column cover. Remove both screws and carefully pull the lower cover downward and away from the column. Set aside with screws.Torque specCover Screws10 Nm (8 lb-ft)
- 3Remove upper steering column coverWith lower cover removed, locate the upper cover attachment points. Gently pry the upper cover upward starting from the rear, releasing the retaining clips. Lift the upper cover off the steering column and set aside.
- 4Disconnect wiper switch electrical connectorLocate the main electrical connector on the back of the combination switch assembly. Press the locking tab and pull the connector straight back to disconnect. Note the routing of the wiring harness for reinstallation.
- 5Remove combination switch mounting screwsLocate the two Phillips screws securing the combination switch assembly to the steering column (one on each side). Remove both screws completely and retain for reinstallation.
- 6Remove wiper switch assemblyWith mounting screws removed, carefully slide the entire combination switch assembly (including wiper switch and turn signal switch) off the steering column shaft. Guide the wiring harness through as you remove the assembly.
- 7Install new wiper switch assemblyPosition the new combination switch assembly over the steering column shaft, ensuring the alignment tab engages properly with the column slot. Route the wiring harness in the same path as the original. Slide the assembly fully onto the column until it seats against the mounting surface.
- 8Install mounting screwsInsert both Phillips mounting screws and hand-tighten. Ensure the switch assembly is properly aligned and seated before final tightening. Torque screws evenly to specification.Torque specCover Screws10 Nm (8 lb-ft)

Reassembly
- Ensure all steering column covers are fully seated with no gaps
- Verify electrical connector is fully locked with no exposed terminals
- Check that steering wheel movement is not impeded by any displaced wiring
Verification
- Turn ignition to ON position (engine off) and test all wiper switch functions: intermittent, low speed, high speed, and washer activation
- Verify all other combination switch functions operate correctly: turn signals, headlights, and high beams
- Check that wiper switch returns to proper positions and does not stick or bind
- Ensure no warning lights remain illuminated on the instrument cluster
- Test wipers in actual operation to confirm proper speed control and parking position
