  5. Ensure ignition is off and key fob is outside vehicle

Procedure

  1. 1
    Remove lower center console trim
Using trim removal tools, carefully pry out the lower center console side trim panels on both driver and passenger sides. Start from the rear and work forward. Remove any visible fasteners and disconnect any electrical connectors for USB ports or power outlets if equipped.
  2. 2
    Remove center console storage compartment
Open the center console storage compartment. Locate and remove the two T20 Torx screws at the bottom of the compartment. Lift the front edge of the storage bin and pull rearward to disengage the rear mounting clips. Remove the storage compartment completely.

  3. 3
    Remove upper console trim panel
Carefully pry up the upper console trim panel surrounding the HVAC controls and gear selector using a panel removal tool. Start at the rear corners and work around the perimeter. This panel is secured by multiple clips around the edges. Lift carefully to avoid damaging the clips or painted surfaces.
  4. 4
    Disconnect gear selector connector
With the upper trim panel partially lifted, locate the gear selector electrical connector beneath. Press the locking tab and disconnect the connector. Carefully route the connector through the trim panel opening and set the trim panel aside.

  7. 7
    Disconnect electrical connectors
Locate the main HVAC control panel connector and any additional connectors for heated seat controls or other integrated functions. Press the locking tabs on each connector and carefully disconnect them from the back of the control panel. Note the orientation and routing of each connector for reassembly.
  8. 8
    Remove old HVAC control panel
With all electrical connectors disconnected, completely remove the old HVAC control panel from the vehicle. Inspect the mounting area and connector pins for any damage or debris. Clean connector contacts with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.
  9. 9
    Install new HVAC control panel
Position the new HVAC control panel near the installation location. Connect all electrical connectors to the back of the new panel, ensuring each connector clicks firmly into place and locking tabs are fully engaged. Verify connections match your reference photos.
  10. 10
    Secure HVAC control panel
Carefully push the new HVAC control panel into the console opening, ensuring all wiring is properly routed and not pinched. Align the mounting holes and install the mounting screws. Tighten screws evenly to specified torque to avoid distorting the panel.
