Replace both headlight bulbs on the 2015 Kia Forte 1.8L I4, accessing bulbs from the engine bay without removing the headlight assemblies.
Warnings
⚠Do not touch the glass portion of halogen bulbs with bare hands. Oil from skin causes hot spots that shorten bulb life and may cause bulb failure.
⚠Allow headlights to cool for at least 10 minutes before servicing if recently operated.
ℹ️This procedure covers low beam headlight bulbs only. High beams and turn signals require different procedures.

Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool

Parts
- H11 halogen headlight bulb × 2 — 92201-3Q200 or equivalent H11 55W bulb
Preparation
- Park vehicle on level surface and turn off engine
- Allow headlights to cool if recently used
- Open hood and prop securely
- Identify which headlight bulb(s) need replacement by testing operation
Procedure
- 1Access driver side headlight assemblyLocate the bulb access cover on the back of the driver side headlight assembly in the engine bay. It is a circular plastic cover with tabs approximately 4 inches in diameter directly behind the headlight lens.
- 2Remove driver side bulb coverRotate the bulb access cover counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight back to remove. Set cover aside in clean location.
- 3Disconnect driver side bulb connectorLocate the electrical connector attached to the back of the bulb assembly. Press the release tab on the connector and pull straight back to disconnect. Do not pull on wires.
- 4Remove driver side bulbGrasp the bulb base and rotate counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn, then pull straight out from the headlight housing. Avoid touching the glass portion of the old bulb during removal.
- 5Install new driver side bulbUsing a clean cloth or gloves to handle only the plastic base, insert the new H11 bulb into the headlight housing. Align the tabs on the bulb base with the slots in the housing, insert fully, then rotate clockwise 1/4 turn until it locks in place. Do not touch the glass envelope.
- 6Reconnect driver side bulb connectorPush the electrical connector onto the bulb terminal until it clicks into place. Ensure connection is secure by gently tugging on connector.
- 7Reinstall driver side bulb coverAlign the tabs on the bulb access cover with the slots on the headlight housing. Push the cover in and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn to lock in place.
- 8Access passenger side headlight assemblyLocate the bulb access cover on the back of the passenger side headlight assembly. The location is similar to the driver side but may require reaching over engine components or working from the side of the engine bay.
- 9Remove passenger side bulb coverRotate the bulb access cover counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight back to remove. Set cover aside.
- 10Disconnect passenger side bulb connectorPress the release tab on the electrical connector and pull straight back to disconnect from the bulb. Keep connector clear of engine components.
- 11Remove passenger side bulbGrasp the bulb base and rotate counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn, then pull straight out from the housing.
- 12Install new passenger side bulbUsing clean cloth or gloves, handle only the plastic base of the new H11 bulb. Insert into housing, align tabs, push in fully, and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn to lock. Verify bulb is fully seated.
- 13Reconnect passenger side bulb connectorPush electrical connector onto bulb terminal until it clicks. Verify secure connection.
- 14Reinstall passenger side bulb coverAlign cover tabs with housing slots, push in, and rotate clockwise 1/4 turn to lock.
Reassembly
- Ensure both bulb access covers are fully seated and locked
- Verify no tools or parts are left in engine bay
- Close hood securely
Verification
- Turn ignition to ON position without starting engine
- Activate headlights and verify both low beams illuminate properly
- Check for proper beam pattern by observing light output on a flat surface
- Verify no warning lights appear on instrument cluster
- Test headlight switch through all positions to confirm normal operation
