Preparation
- Park on level ground, place in P, engage parking brake (you will release it via service mode in a moment).
- Exit ALL doors with the key fob away from the vehicle. Wait at least 2 minutes for HV systems to fully de-energize, even on this non-HV job.
- Before disconnecting 12V power: enter the touchscreen Service Mode and place the rear electric parking brake into Brake Service / Maintenance Mode so the EPB calipers retract and remain unpowered.
- Disconnect the low-voltage battery (12V, located under the rear seat or in the front trunk area depending on build — see architecture notes). Wait 2 minutes after disconnect.
- DO NOT touch, cut, or pierce ANY orange cable — these are high-voltage and lethal.
