Warnings
⚠Never touch halogen bulb glass with bare fingers. Oil from skin will cause premature bulb failure and potential glass cracking.
⚠Ensure headlights have been off for at least 10 minutes before starting to avoid burns from hot bulbs.
ℹ️This procedure covers both low beam and high beam bulb replacement. Verify which bulbs need replacement before beginning.

Parts
- H11 Halogen Headlight Bulb (Low Beam) × 2 — Use OEM specification or equivalent H11
- 9005 Halogen Headlight Bulb (High Beam) × 2 — Use OEM specification or equivalent 9005
Preparation
- Park vehicle on level surface and turn off ignition
- Allow headlight bulbs to cool completely if recently operated
- Open hood and secure with prop rod
- Identify which bulbs need replacement (low beam uses H11, high beam uses 9005)
Procedure
- 1Access driver side headlight assemblyLocate the headlight assembly from behind in the engine bay. On the driver side, you may need to move the air filter housing or coolant reservoir slightly for better access. The bulb sockets are accessible from the rear of the headlight housing.
- 2Remove low beam bulb socket (if replacing low beam)Locate the low beam bulb socket on the inner portion of the headlight assembly. Rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight back to remove from the housing. The electrical connector remains attached to the socket.
- 3Disconnect low beam electrical connectorPress the release tab on the electrical connector and pull away from the bulb socket. Remove the old H11 bulb by pulling straight out of the socket. Inspect socket for corrosion or damage.
- 4Install new low beam bulbUsing clean gloves or holding the bulb base only, insert the new H11 bulb into the socket. The bulb has alignment tabs that only allow correct orientation. Push firmly until fully seated. Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks.
- 5Reinstall low beam socketAlign the socket tabs with the headlight housing slots and insert straight in. Rotate clockwise 1/4 turn until it locks into place. Verify the socket is secure and cannot be pulled out.
- 6Remove high beam bulb socket (if replacing high beam)Locate the high beam bulb socket on the outer portion of the headlight assembly. Rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn and pull straight back to remove from the housing.
- 7Replace high beam bulbDisconnect the electrical connector from the high beam socket by pressing the release tab. Remove the old 9005 bulb by pulling straight out. Using clean gloves, install the new 9005 bulb into the socket, ensuring proper alignment with the tabs. Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks.
- 8Reinstall high beam socketInsert the high beam socket straight into the headlight housing, aligning the tabs. Rotate clockwise 1/4 turn until locked in place. Verify secure installation.
- 9Access passenger side headlight assemblyMove to the passenger side of the engine bay. Access is typically easier on this side. Locate the bulb sockets on the rear of the passenger headlight assembly.
- 10Replace passenger side bulbsRepeat steps 2-8 for the passenger side headlight assembly. Follow the same procedure for removing sockets, disconnecting electrical connectors, replacing bulbs with clean gloves, and reinstalling sockets with proper rotation and locking.
Reassembly
- Ensure all bulb sockets are rotated and locked into place on both headlight assemblies
- Verify all electrical connectors are fully seated and clicked into place
- Return any moved components (air filter housing, coolant reservoir) to original position
- Close hood securely
Verification
- Turn ignition to ON position without starting engine
- Activate headlights and verify both low beams illuminate properly
- Switch to high beams and verify both high beams illuminate properly
- Check for proper beam pattern alignment - bulbs should be seated correctly if pattern is normal
- Turn off all lights and remove key from ignition
- Visually inspect from front of vehicle that both headlights are functioning with no dark spots or abnormal lighting
