Preparation

   Clean mounting surfaces
   Use a wire brush to clean the mounting bracket surfaces where the pump mounts. Remove any corrosion, dirt, or old gasket material. Wipe clean with a rag. Inspect bracket for cracks or damage. If rubber isolators are separate from pump, inspect and replace if cracked or compressed.

   Prepare new pump for installation
   Remove new secondary air pump from packaging and verify it matches the old unit. Install any rubber mounting isolators or gaskets onto the new pump if they are separate components. Verify electrical connector orientation matches original pump. Check that inlet filter is installed if applicable.

    Reconnect air inlet hose
    Install the air inlet hose onto the pump inlet fitting, ensuring it is fully seated. Position the hose clamp over the connection point and tighten securely. Verify the inlet filter housing is clean and properly sealed.

    Reconnect vacuum and electrical connections
    Reconnect the vacuum control hose to the air pump valve, ensuring it is fully seated and clamp is tight. Connect the electrical connector to the pump motor, pressing firmly until the locking tab clicks into place. Verify connector is fully seated and locked.

    Reinstall air intake components
    Reinstall the air filter housing and intake duct in reverse order of removal. Ensure all clamps are tight and connections are secure. Reinstall engine cover if equipped by aligning clips and pressing down firmly until all clips engage.

Reassembly

Verification

• Start engine and allow to idle. Listen for abnormal noises from secondary air pump area
