Complete replacement of all engine mounts (front, rear, left, and right) on the 2014-2019 Toyota Corolla 1.8L I4 engine to eliminate vibration and secure proper engine positioning.
Warnings
⚠️Engine must be properly supported at all times during this procedure. Failure to adequately support the engine can result in engine dropping, causing severe injury or death.
⚠️Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always use jack stands rated for the vehicle weight.
⚠Perform this work on a cold engine only. Hot engine components can cause severe burns.
⚠Do not loosen all mounts simultaneously. Replace mounts one at a time or maintain adequate engine support.
ℹ️Mount bolt locations can be tight and difficult to access. Allow extra time for bolt removal and installation.

Parts
- Front engine mount (right side) × 1 — 12361-0T030 or equivalent
- Rear engine mount (left side) × 1 — 12372-0T030 or equivalent
- Right engine mount × 1 — 12305-0T050 or equivalent
- Transmission mount × 1 — 12371-0T030 or equivalent
Preparation
- Park vehicle on level surface and engage parking brake
- Ensure engine is completely cold before beginning work
- Disconnect negative battery cable and secure away from terminal
- Raise vehicle and support securely on jack stands at manufacturer-specified lift points
- Remove engine under covers to access mounts
- Apply penetrating oil to all mount bolts and allow to soak for 15-30 minutes
- Set up engine support bar across fender aprons or position engine hoist with load leveler
Procedure
- 1Support the engineInstall engine support bar across the engine bay, hooking to fender apron edges. Attach support chain or strap to engine lifting eye. Alternatively, attach engine hoist to lifting eye with chain. Raise support system until it just begins to take weight off the mounts, but do not lift engine. Engine should be stable but not under tension.
- 2Remove right side engine mountLocated on passenger side between engine and frame rail. Remove the through-bolt connecting mount to bracket. Remove mounting bolts securing mount to engine block and frame. Carefully extract mount from engine bay. Inspect mounting surfaces and clean with wire brush.Torque specThrough-Bolt85 Nm (63 lb-ft)Engine Mount-to-Block Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)
- 3Install new right side engine mountPosition new right side mount between engine and frame. Hand-thread all bolts first to ensure proper alignment. Install and torque engine-to-block bolts, then frame bolts, then through-bolt in that sequence. Verify mount is seated properly and rubber isolator is not twisted or pinched.Torque specEngine Mount-to-Block Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)Through-Bolt85 Nm (63 lb-ft)
- 4Remove front engine mountLocated at front of engine below intake manifold area. Support engine weight with floor jack and wood block under oil pan for additional stability. Remove mount through-bolt. Remove bolts securing mount to engine and subframe. Lower jack slightly if needed to create clearance and remove mount.Torque specMount Through Bolt84 Nm (62 lb-ft)Mounting Bolts45 Nm (33 lb-ft)
- 5Install new front engine mountPosition new front mount into location. Raise engine slightly with floor jack if needed for alignment. Hand-start all fasteners. Torque mounting bolts to engine and subframe first, then install and torque the mount through-bolt. Remove floor jack from under oil pan.Torque specMounting Bolts45 Nm (33 lb-ft)Mount Through Bolt84 Nm (62 lb-ft)
- 6Remove rear engine mount (left side)Located on driver side of engine near firewall. This mount may require removal of heat shields or covers for access. Remove cover bolts if applicable. Remove mount-to-frame bolts and engine-side mounting bolts. Carefully maneuver mount out of position, noting any brackets or shims for reinstallation.Torque specCover Bolts15 Nm (11 lb-ft)Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)Mounting Bolts45 Nm (33 lb-ft)
- 7Install new rear engine mountInstall any brackets or shims in original positions. Position new rear mount and hand-thread all fasteners. Torque mounting bolts to engine block, then mount-to-frame bolts. Reinstall any heat shields or covers removed and torque cover bolts. Verify clearance between mount and surrounding components.Torque specMounting Bolts45 Nm (33 lb-ft)Engine Mount-to-Frame Bolts75 Nm (55 lb-ft)Cover Bolts15 Nm (11 lb-ft)
- 8Remove transmission mountLocated beneath transmission on driver side. Place floor jack with wood block under transmission pan for support. Remove transmission mount bolts connecting mount to transmission and to crossmember. Lower jack slightly to create clearance if needed. Remove mount from vehicle.Torque specTransmission Mount Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)
- 9Install new transmission mountPosition new transmission mount between transmission and crossmember. Raise transmission slightly with floor jack for proper alignment. Hand-start all transmission mount bolts. Torque all transmission mount bolts to specification. Remove floor jack from under transmission.Torque specTransmission Mount Bolts65 Nm (48 lb-ft)
- 10Final alignment checkWith all new mounts installed and torqued, verify engine position is centered in engine bay with equal gaps on both sides. Check that no wiring, hoses, or components are pinched or under tension. Slowly release tension from engine support bar or hoist while monitoring engine settling into new mounts. Engine should sit level without binding.
- 11Remove support equipment and reinstall coversOnce engine has settled properly into new mounts, remove engine support bar or hoist. Reinstall all engine under covers removed during preparation. Lower vehicle from jack stands. Reconnect negative battery cable.
Reassembly
- All torque specifications are critical for mount performance and must be followed exactly
- Verify all mount bolts are torqued in the correct sequence as specified in each step
- Ensure no wiring harnesses, hoses, or components are pinched between mounts and mounting surfaces
- Double-check that engine under covers are fully reinstalled and secured
Verification
- Start engine and verify it idles smoothly without excessive vibration in cabin
- With engine running, shift through all transmission gears (foot on brake) and verify no abnormal clunking or movement
- Rev engine to 2500-3000 RPM and verify no metal-to-metal contact sounds
- Turn engine off and visually inspect all four mounts for proper installation and clearance
- Test drive vehicle at various speeds and verify vibration is eliminated and no unusual noises occur during acceleration or deceleration
- Recheck all mount bolt torques after test drive
