    Apply a thin coat of anti-seize compound to the threads of each nut. Using a torque wrench, tighten the exhaust manifold nuts in a specific pattern starting from the center (cylinder 2/3) and working outward toward the ends. Make multiple passes, first to 15 Nm, then to final specification of 30 Nm. This hot-to-cold pattern ensures even clamping force and prevents gasket distortion.
