Parts
- Horn assembly × 1 — Use OEM specification

- Turn ignition off and remove key from ignition
- Allow engine to cool if recently driven
- Disconnect negative battery terminal to prevent accidental horn activation during service
Procedure
- 1Access the horn locationFrom underneath the front of the vehicle on the driver side, locate the horn mounted to the radiator support bracket behind the bumper. The horn will be positioned low near the bottom of the grille area. Use a work light to improve visibility if needed.
- 2Disconnect the electrical connectorPress the tab on the horn electrical connector and pull it straight off the horn terminal. The connector is a single push-on style terminal. If stuck, gently wiggle while pulling to release.
- 3Remove the horn mounting boltUsing a 10mm socket with extension, remove the single bolt securing the horn to the mounting bracket. Support the horn with your other hand as you remove the bolt to prevent it from falling.Torque specHorn Mounting Bolt15 Nm (11 lb-ft)
- 4Remove the horn assemblyPull the horn assembly away from the mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle. Note the orientation of the horn and the position of any mounting tabs for reinstallation.
- 5Inspect mounting bracket and connectionsCheck the mounting bracket for damage, rust, or cracks. Inspect the electrical connector for corrosion, damaged pins, or melted plastic. Clean the mounting surface with a wire brush if corrosion is present.

- 8Reconnect electrical connectorPush the electrical connector firmly onto the horn terminal until it clicks into place. Verify the connection is secure by gently pulling on the connector. Ensure no wires are pinched or routed where they could contact moving parts or hot surfaces.
- 9Reconnect battery and testReconnect the negative battery terminal. Turn the ignition to the ON position (engine does not need to be running) and press the horn button on the steering wheel to verify proper operation. The horn should sound immediately with no delay or weak tone.
Reassembly
- Ensure the horn mounting bolt is torqued to specification to prevent vibration noise
- Verify electrical connector is fully seated and locked in place
- Confirm no tools or parts were left in the engine compartment
Verification
- Test horn operation with ignition ON by pressing the horn button - horn should sound clearly and loudly
- Check for any buzzing, rattling, or weak horn sound that might indicate loose mounting
- Verify no warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard after reconnecting battery
- Perform a visual inspection to confirm the electrical connector is secure and the horn is properly mounted
